Microsoft’s Version of Google Docs Suite

office_logoMicrosoft’s upcoming Office 2010 suite is to be made available online making it another clash between the giants, Microsoft and Google.

This move explicitly sends a challenge to Google’s free online Docs suite. The Office 2010 suite will contain web versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote under the banner of Office Web.

To us users, only one thing truly concerns us: Is Office 2010 suite free?

If you are a user of Windows Live service or Office Volume licensing then yes! It’s absolutely free. According to a company statement made at Microsoft’s global partner conference, Office 2010 online is intended to “provide access to documents from virtually anywhere and preserve the look and feel of a document regardless of device”.
