NEW: 3D Street View in Video? That’s YellowBird

Missed an outdoor concert and wish you were there?

YellowBird is a startup in the Netherlands that can make your dream come true.

If you see a striking yellow 360-degree video camera positioned around the streets, wave at it with your best smile as you may end up in one of the 3D videos hosted by YellowBird.

Besides the camera, this startup also developed its own software that can retrieve uncompressed footage from the camera to produce quality 3D videos complete with background music and sound effects, and a video player that allows users to navigate inside the video (like you are really in it!) by dragging their mouse around. Watch videos come to life; user experience has just kicked up a notch!

Here’s a demo of the totally interactive 3D view on video. Try navigating yourself around with the mouse. It might be a little too sensitive but it’s still fun to watch people up close and “turn your head” to explore the place!
