Andrei Gheorghe, the 22-year-old Romanian web developer has created a program that consolidates and constructs different tweets into a poem.
“The Longest Poem in the World” is composed by aggregating real-time public Twitter updates and selecting those that rhyme. It is constantly growing at 4000 verses a day.
The program runs automatically and has currently connected more than 364,000 verses. This poem could go on forever as long as people are updating.
“I found the lyrics to be sometimes interesting, other times weird. It is fully automatic so I just let it run, without any involvement from me,” he said.
“I soon found that people were very excited to be part of this and consider it some form of artistic expression of the collective consciousness of Twitter.”
“The fact that it offers equal chances for anyone to be featured in the poem is one of its interesting points.”
