NEW: Businesses on Twitter will have Strategic Statistic Tools

twitter long logoBy the end of this year, Twitter will have strategic statistic tools available for businesses on its site. This tool definitely comes with a price, which has not been discussed thus far.

Co-founder, Biz Stone told the Venturebeat blog that these new accounts will include statistics and analytics, which will help businesses measure how effective their use of Twitter is.

A handful of business accounts, not named by Biz are currently trying out this new statistical tool.

Despite raising $55 million in venture funding and currently servicing 44 million users, Twitter is still not generating any revenue.

Once again, Biz Stone defended the lack of revenue by emphasizing on the importance of building user base and observing its evolution before committing to a business model. The question we have is whether these paid accounts would start the ball rolling and get Twitter some decent money.

Adding on to the upcoming retweet system and geolocation tagging, this micro-blogging king has certainly laid exciting plans for its future.

I think Twitter launching a business tool is a good move. The famous (albeit an understatement) social media site deserves to have an upgrade, too. I only hope that the tool in question would be accessible — as well as affordable — for the masses of people who are members of the Twitter community.

totally agree! (: haha I am sure it would be accessible but how affordable, I dont know yet. But seems like Twitter is really zooming in to its business targets. thanks for sharing (:
