Known for its smart use of various social media tools, charity: water has started its new social giving site to empower people like you and me to help.
By being involved in this new site, you can
“Start a campaign, create a group, invite your friends. Give up your birthday, climb a mountain and run a marathon. And smile. Because what you do here changes lives.”
That’s the gist of the idea. Catch this video to understand more:
Once you have registered, there are basically three things you can do.
1. Tell Your Friends
Invite your friends to this social giving site. The more exposure charity: water gets, the higher the chance it gets funded to build more wells for the people. Don’t hesitate to add everyone you know when you are at this step!

2. Start a Group
Starting your charity: water group for church or school is just a form away. You will get a personalized URL that directs people to your group profile. It is as good as having your own website.
We have created one! Join our group to spread social good via social media!

3. Start a Campaign
Like what Scott Harrison did, you can give up your birthday and wedding, hold a sport campaign or set up a 2nd hand store to help raise money.
Social Good via Social Media
Social media isn’t just about connecting with friends, completing quizzes or blabbering your day off. It has other meaningful functions and spreading social good is one of them.
If Facebook managed to reach 50 million users in 2 years, we can also give 5 million (or more) people clean drinking water within the same amount of time. I urge you to be a member of this great cause to make it possible.
