The micro-blogging site, Twitter had its popularity accelerated when famous celebrities started adopting and using it intensively.
It proved to be a great platform for stars to promote themselves, their latest releases and new events. From what it seems, they really do enjoy twittering and some are really active in speaking with fans.
But could this marketing and branding channel become too addictive for their own good?
Lily Allen, for one is not ashamed to admit that she is indeed addicted to Twitter. She recently expressed that her new boyfriend, Sam Cooper gets really angry about her Twitter addiction.
Could it be a Twitter version of Facebook jealousy?
My boyfriend gets really, really angry with me because he’s just like ‘I just want to spend some time with you, do we have to have one and a half million people in the room with us at one time?’
I’m like ‘Yes, shut up.’

Like many other celebrities, Lily has been using Twitter to brew fame. Apart from posting updates from her tours, she also uses Twitter to reward followers with tickets to her gigs.
