Google Monopoly Off to A Bad Start. Players Unimpressed

Picture 16

Google’s Monopoly, City Streets is off to a bad start.

After Mr Monopoly, its official blogger announced that this highly anticipated game was up and running, its server somehow caught “fire” and the only thing that’s showing is a Apache 2 Test Page.

The delay has frustrated many players. Those who managed to sneak in either had their game crashed or received a message saying “Country not supported yet”.

Country not supported yet

I am not sure exactly which countries are displayed as unsupported but besides North Korea, Israel and other countries, which chose not to provide map information to Google, most countries should be up for play. This has definitely ruffled some players and caused some confusion.

Google Chrome works? Ans: No

Some players even switched to Google Chrome to test out if City Streets works better on Google’s own browser.

Note: With the Apache 2 Test page showing up, it is obvious that City Streets isn’t running on Google’s server. Up till now, it is still experiencing problems and we have not seen any updates from Mr Monopoly. Unless Google steps in and solves this fast, I’m afraid most of us are not going to be playing City Streets today.

    Willis -

FYI, this is NOT a Google product. It uses Google Maps, but the maps are not the problem.

This is a game created and hosted by HASBRO, the makers of Monopoly.

You're blaming this on the wrong company.

Hi Alpine. I understand and i didn't place the blame on Google. Like you, i'm a Google supported.

    This is what I wrote:
