According to Compete, Facebook’s number of unique visits in the past 3 months has very much remained at the same level. Should the Facebook team be worrying?
We can only speculate the reasons for this stagnation but one could be its saturated growth in the North American market.

It is certainly time for Facebook to extend its reach to the rest on the continents. According to Facebook’s social statistics, a dominating 84 million users come from the U.S. That makes up about 28% of the entire Facebook population. Densely populated countries like India and China only have a total of 4 million users.
It is true that India and China in general are suffering from a slower connection speed. That’s exactly why Facebook Lite was created – to cater to people who are experiencing slow connection speeds in their locations.
A great solution to the problem I would say, but would users be contented with a stripped down version of Facebook?
Nah… Not that bad
Even with its slow unique visit growth for the past 3 months, Facebook has recently announced its milestone of 300 million users. Facebook’s number of visits (non unique) is also improving at a steady pace. Taking into account that unique visits are pretty stagnant, we can safely assume that Facebook users are visiting the social network site more often than they did before.

Will Facebook Lite Work?
Being a stripped down version of Facebook, Lite probably going to be less frustrating for people with slower connection speed. Is Facebook Lite going to work? Will it help Facebook grow in areas that it was previously unable to effectively capture?
We shall anticipate Facebook’s September web statistics.
