Google Wave Launches Tomorrow!

Google_Wave_logoFinal countdown to ONE!

Many of us can’t hold on to our seats any longer and we are glad that the launch is just one day away.

Google Wave has created a great deal of buzz and also promised a lot. Naturally, there are some of us who are already drooling at the sneak peek!

Okay, I’m exaggerating but the expectation of it being revolutionary is indisputable.

We have written a couple of posts during the wait and created a little summary for your pure reading enjoyment.

1. What is Google Wave?

Google Wave is a new tool for communication and collaboration on the web; expecting to launch later this year (tomorrow!). It is a platform designed to merge e-mail, instant messaging, wiki and social networking all into one. Sounds great huh? The invites are limited to 100,000. If you haven’t applied for it, you can still try your luck here!

2. What are the possible benefits?

Judging from Google Wave’s capabilities, we have identified 10 benefits. There are certainly more than 10. We will see what we can add to the list tomorrow.

3. Internet Explorer users need plug-in

If you’re using Internet Explorer 6, 7, or 8, you will need to install Google Chrome Frame. It is a plug-in exclusively for Internet Explorer users to experience Google Wave fully, by bringing HTML5 and other open web technologies to Internet Explorer.

4. Excited? (I can’t wait anymore!)

Fret not. We have prepared 5 videos to ease your Google Wave excitement. The wait has been long and the pain is almost unbearable.

Let’s hope Google Wave will live up to its name tomorrow!

It is pretty exciting, especially if you are into enterprise collaboration. We have been researching how to integrate Code Roller with Google Wave (see http://www.dynamicalsoftware.com/news/?p=27) and that release is scheduled to go out latter this month.
