E-commerce Is Coming To Facebook [VIDEO]

Description: Fully integrated e-commerce is coming to Facebook. It would be powered by Payvment and launched at PayPal X Innovate 2009, November 3-4 2009 in San Francisco.

Hurray to online retailers! A newly integrated e-commerce development, named Storefront (as seen in the video below) is coming to Facebook.

With 300 million users, this new integration will be eyed by many retailers. It will have our familiar shopping cart system and several additional advantages.

Advantages

1. Addiction: People are addicted to everything Facebook and they would similarly be addicted to this new online store. If you’re that sort of shoppers who quit after adding several items to their shopping cart, fret not, your shopping cart will remain filled until they are check out or dismissed.

2. Increase buying intention: A fan page + storefront will be an awesome combination. Your fans are likely to click on your promotional updates since browsing your items is now so convenient. All within Facebook!

3. Web shopping cart API: Facebook connect + Payvment Web shopping cart API can sync your customers’ purchases from Facebook to your website and vice versa. Your shopping cart can be accessed via both sites!

This seems like another smart move by the social-networking giant. Maybe one day, all we need is Facebook. Do you welcome this new e-commerce integration on Facebook? We would love to hear your views!

That's a great beginning, but where the social interaction?
There are no emphasis about all users interactions and recommendations. I think that's the point of using facebook: enabling customers to interact with each other and have your network help/influence you in your shopping.

Once the site is up and running, you will want to give it your serious attention.
