Alright, it is between Facebook and Twitter again.
According to Compete, Facebook experienced an increment of about 4 million unique visits while Twitter continued with its stagnant run in growth for the month of October. To be exact, it actually saw a 0.5 million dip in unique visits.
Perhaps Twitter’s India and Japan mobile strategy has not taken effect?

According to a post that we wrote 3 months ago, Facebook had about 78.9 million users in the U.S and about 4.0 million in China and India. Today, the social networking giant has about 96.8 million users in the U.S and 5 million in China and India.
That is an increment of 17. 9 million (22%) and 1 million (25%) respectively. A remarkable growth rate given the current size of Facebook.

Twitter, on the other hand is not looking too good. It was forecast that Twitter would have about 19 million U.S users by the end of 2009. Even if the forecast is accurate, the number is still no where near Facebook’s current number of U.S users.
