PETITION: Over 380K Gathered On Facebook For Match Replay

france and ireland fairplayFrance’s controversial win over Ireland during a crucial world cup qualifying playoff has caused an uproar in both traditional and digital media.

The goal by French defender William Gallas was definitely valid, but it wouldn’t be possible without the set-up by well-known striker, Thierry Henry.

Unfortunately, he was seen using his hands before passing the ball towards the goalmouth.

Needless to say, Facebook has become the protest platform for unhappy Ireland fans while YouTube is flooded with videos of the handball incident.

More than 380 thousand fans (and still counting) have gathered on the fan page to pressure FIFA for a replay. Catch the incident below:

1. Henry’s handball

2. Henry admits mistake

No replay regardless of strong protest

FIFA has ruled off any chances of a replay despite strong protests from football fans.

We wish the Irish luck in Euro 2012.

If Ireland scored a goal such way that one certainly would have been annulled by the ref. But according to FIFA French participation at the World Cup commercially is more attractive than Ireland's. It is of all times. In 1934 Italy even was allowed to field ineligible players, scored goals which should have been annulled. Instead of the latter Spain's second goal in the quarter final's dying minutes was disallowed………
FIFA promotes fair play and would say: all animals are equal, but some are more equa. In general we can say the bigger he soccer nation the more equal it is. FIFA forget one thing. Without football there's no FIFA, without FIFA there still will be football.
