10 Most Viral Videos For November 2009

improv everywhererGoviral has released its top 10 most viral videos of the month.

This month’s collection, as always, is awesome and provides marketers and entrepreneurs ideas to maximize their social media campaigns.

My favorite this month is Improv Everywhere’s ‘The Grocery Musical’.

What’s yours?

1. Cullman Liquidation – Mobile Homes

The content is “no-nonsense” and straight to the point. A little humor is always welcomed and is probably the reason why the video received more than 900,000 views.

Agency: Rhett & Link

2. The Grocery Store Musical

A total of six undercover actors were shopping in a grocery store, but they quickly burst into a nice musical. The song was played over the store’s PA system. According to the video description, the mission was filmed with “hidden robotic, lipstick, and wearable cameras”. The video got itself over 1.4 million views.

Agency: Improv Everywhere

3. Guinness – Bring it to Life

Guinness has created another expensive epic, the commercial was filmed by an elite team – Oscar winning set designer, Grant Major and Oscar nominated Director of Photography, Wally Pfisher. It has so far received over 220,000 views and 186 blog posts in about a month.

Agency: AMV BBDO, London

4. Verizon – Misfit Toys

GoViral described the video as a metaphor borrowed from a scene in the 1964 Rankin/Bass stop-motion animated Christmas television special, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”. This video generated approximately 515,000 views and 900 tweets in less than three weeks.

Agency: McCann-Erickson, New York

5. Nokia N900 – The Journey Starts Here

The new Nokia N900 encompasses the latest user-inspired innovations, built on the powerful Maemo platform. Not the best ad that I have seen from Nokia though.

Agency: The Mill

6. Vodafone Symphonia

A total of 1,000 cell phones and 53 different ringtones were used to perform Tchaikovsky’s 1812 piece. The video has generated more than 430,000 views and was posted on about 250 different blogs.

7. Heineken – Know The Signs

Heineken’s ‘Know the Signs’ campaign aims to promote responsible drinking. Hope it gives us all a wake up call (Or just hold your wedding indoors).

Agency: Ruby

8. Toshiba – Space Chair Project

The video aims to demonstrate what the new 2010 Regza SV LCD TV series LCD TV offers – a better armchair viewing experience with sharper images. Do you get it?

Agency: Grey London

9. Telekom Malaysia – Through My Window

The video is creatively done with a catchy song and storyline. Facebook, instead of Telekom Malaysia has got more impressions from me though.

Agency: DraftFCB Malaysia, Universal McCann

10. Samsung – Hardest Hockey Shot

This video was captured by one of Samsung’s Mobile Explorers when the ice hockey player was warming up for Vancouver 2010 Winter Games. It has captured more than 800,000 views so far.

Agency: Cheil Worldwide
