Yes, this is what everyone has been waiting for.
According to anonymous sources, the agreement to have tweets indexed on both Bing and Google is rumored to provide a combined revenue of about $25 million – 15 from Google, 10 from Bing. It was also estimated that Twitter’s operating cost is in the range of 20 to 25 million and if both estimates are true, it could sum up to a profitable year for Twitter!
Not too bad for a company that hasn’t been focusing on generating revenue yet.
Despite the possible good news, Twitter’s financial stability is still highly questionable. Its paid business accounts and advertising platform are currently under development, and Twitter has been pretty tight-lipped about how each will bring in the necessary cash flows.
Will Twitter be able to follow the footstep of Google and Facebook? Let us know your thought via comments.
