Apple Dominates Social Brand Ranking Again

Apple_black_logoAlthough Zeta Interactive revealed that Microsoft was the most talked about brand in 2009, Vitrue (click here for methodology) had another brand in mind. According to its top 100 social brands ranking, Apple dominated the list. iPhone (1st), iTunes (6th), iPod (34th) and Mac (35th) all made it into the list, helping Apple become the most mentioned brand for the second year running.

Reggie Bradford, Vitrue’s CEO said that the iPhone was an exception in that it illustrates the power of a breakthrough product to generate chatter without maintaining a presence on Facebook or Twitter.

Starbucks, which was named the most engaging brand by Charlene Li last year was ranked 11th on the list.

Another notable brand, Dell, which reaped huge rewards for being an early adopter was ranked 30th. I guess rankings are not important when you are enjoying a $6.5 million revenue stream from Twitter alone.
