With the growth of the Mobile market, we see the birth of many other niche industries, such as apps.
Most iPhone apps cost about $0.99, but today, we introduce to you the most expensive app that costs $999.99. Its sky rocketing price matches the previous record set by “I’m Rich”, a $999.99 app that basically does nothing.
This new app, however, named BarMax, seems to provide more value to users. It is designed to provide crucial information and tips for future lawyers taking the California bar exam.
The app is reported to be over 1gb in size and is by far the largest app seen in the App Store. While most people are turned off by the price, this app might help some people save a huge amount of money. With a fruitful law career in sight, $1,000 would seem insignificant.

Taken from TechCrunch, this is how the idea was inspired:
“Mike Ghaffary came up with the idea when he himself was preparing for the bar exam. He could not believe BarBri charged the $4,000 to send him an iPod with audio notes on it, and that there was no real competition in the space. So he got in touch with some successful iPhone app developers in Los Angeles, as well as some fellow Harvard Law graduates to create the app.”
With BarMax leading the way in mobile learning, would we see more iPhone study guides popping up in the store? You may wish to leave your comments here.
