Twitter Tweets Just Grew and Grew

twitterDespite the stagnant growth in Twitter’s unique visits, the number of tweets did not stop growing.

Remember that we said “Billion” is what Twitter is looking at for 2010? Pingdom‘s graph shows that the number of tweets had already surpassed the billion mark since December last year.

The tweets that were calculated came from both the Twitter website and all third party clients.

The graph brings us two possible conclusions: Either Twitter users are tweeting more often or there are more people joining Twitter. Back in December 2009, another source of data suggested otherwise for the latter.

I hope the bots are not the ones responsible.
