What Could Kill Apple?

apple-ripAs a supportive member of Apple’s cult brand, I used to be very sure that I would never look at any other brand of laptops other than Mac. But sad to say, I am getting very disappointed with Apple.

The only reason why I am still sticking to a Mac is because there isn’t any other brand (in my eyes) that can beat it.

But as soon as I find something as fast and virus free, I am ready to jump boat.

-

Why am I saying this?

I bought an aluminum Macbook (missing a pro) a year ago and within a week, I was experiencing static so strong that my friends could feel current running through my body when they touched me. And surprise surprise, Apple also stopped producing and selling aluminum Macbooks short after (less than a year!). They came up with an aluminum Macbook pro (better specs) at the same price I bought my life threatening Macbook for.

How would Apple expect customers like me to feel? Cheated? The reason for my Macbook’s short product life is unclear but everyone knows that once a product is off the shelves, it becomes obsolete. And as a bonus, they told me the static I feel is normal, and by they, I mean rude and unhelpful customer service personnel. I hate companies who do not admit that they are wrong. And if I’m not mistaken, I hardly hear Apple apologize. Even if it did, there are a bunch of reasons to make the apology sound like it wasn’t needed at all.

So what do I blame this on?

I blame this on the fact that Apple is introducing new products too fast.

Take Apple’s iPhone as an example. When the 3Gs version came out, everyone scattered off to get this revolutionary and “improved” phone. My friend took his 1 week old iPhone 3Gs back 5 times before getting a properly working phone. But of course, he didn’t blame Apple. It is normal for a phone to have problems within a week. Great isn’t it, this is what every brand needs – understanding and forgiving customers. But how long can they last? How long can people tolerate overheating or exploding iPhones/iPods?

For those who know better, they wouldn’t get anything that’s first generation from Apple. Yes, that includes the newly announced iPad.

If Apple doesn’t start making sure its products are ready for launch before launching them, I fear that it would slowly lose its attractiveness.

What do you think? Are you a disappointed Apple fan too? And for what reason?

Apple is introducing new products too fast, because so many competitors in cell phone market, check nokia, they introduce every month new phones
this market is like this, you should follow rules or die)))

    Hmm, haven't been disappointed really..
I own a MacBook (black) & an iPhone.

And yes, I'd move if there were something better.
But at the moment, I think there's nothing.

I do feel for ur MacBook
i heard tt if u make enuff noise, they'll chnage it for u.

The AppleCare centres in sunspots aren't run by apple btw,
they're managed by a 3rd party vendor who of course is reimbursed by apple for whatever repairs done.

    Good luck.
    N I hope u keep the faith!

Yea, i bought my iPod 80Gb, and week after they introduced newer version with 120Gb(without preanouncement so i had no clue about it) for the same price. That was quite disappointing, and i also think they shouldnt “cheat” on their customers like that. I no longer support apple, and i believe that my next music player will be Zune or something equivalent. And apples iPhone actually far behind many of the handsets that are in market right now(both hardware and software). I think that apple is more than a company now, it became a religion, and only believers buy its products…

Hi Harun. I have 2 Questions to your comment:

    - How would introducing fast buggy products help a brand?
    - Shouldn't Apple be creating the trend and not following them?
