Whenever we introduce ourselves as bloggers, we are often greeted with skepticism. Well, at least in Asia.
It is definitely easy to belittle the power and benefits of blogging. For us, blogging has been a great platform for sharing and it has also become our door to awesome opportunities.
It allows us to voice our opinions, meet people from around the world and create a business out of it (hopefully!). Penn Olson is now 9 months old, but if we rewind it back to when it started, we would have never imagined the amount of business exposure and number of learning opportunities we are getting. All these couldn’t have happened without your support – so… thank you!
The purpose of this post is not to brag. Rather, we would like to share our views on the benefits of blogging and hopefully encourage you to start blogging too.
1. A Dynamic Way To Show Off Your Capabilities
No one knows what you’re capable of until you show it. If you have excellent photoshopping skills, blog about tips and tutorials. If you are a photographer, display your works on a blog along with valuable photography tips. If you have a passion in finance, teach your readers how to buy, sell and trade stocks. A blog is like your resume, only non-static. It is dynamic and much more convincing than a piece of paper.
Of course, words weigh nothing when they not accompanied by actions. With Penn Olson, we are trying to get ourselves as many consulting and marketing projects as possible. We want to practice what we preach and learn at the same time.

2. Daily Learning
Seasoned bloggers understand the importance of catching up with news on a daily basis. The purpose is to gain both knowledge and inspiration to prepare for the next post, and the things we learn stick with us forever.

3. Business Opportunities
A blog places ideas on the web and is open for anyone to visit. If you have great content on your blog, you have a high chance of attracting the right people to either advertise or collaborate with you.

Start Blogging
In short, whether you’re into marketing, engineering or design, a blog could be your perfect starting point to display your abilities. If you don’t start, you never know what opportunities lie ahead. Start blogging and have fun!
