Previously, we were amazed by how AJ Bombers leveraged Foursquare’s Swarm Badge to gather over 150 users into its burger joint.
Each Swarm Badge is awarded to 50 or more people who check-in simultaneously at the same location. The Super Swarm Badge, as the “super” suggests, would require 250 or more people to unlock it.
In fact, the badge has already been claimed by Harry H and fellow Foursquare users in the current SXSW. Other users might stand a chance to get it if you’re at the mega event too.
The introduction of this hard-to-achieve badge reflects Foursquare’s increasing popularity. Mashable reported that the location-based startup has also hit a record-breaking 347,000 check-ins in a day, in other words, 4 users are checking-in every second.

Users & Businesses
This new badge has provided businesses with another reason to gather fans and followers together. It is a win-win situation for both parties. We get to unlock the badge and enjoy the event, while businesses get to engage with potential customers.
As time progresses, we realize how Foursquare has slowly achieved the optimal balance between user and business. Be prepared to witness more new badges in the future as Foursquare continues to align both users and businesses’ interest into one.
