4 Viral Ads That You Simply Can’t Miss [VIDEOS]

ratAre viral video ads effective? Regardless of the answer, businesses are still constantly supplying these entertaining viral ads to the Internet community.

Well, I must say, it is a positive contribution!

Last month’s series of Super Bowl ads has dominated the charts, but we have managed to pick out 4 non Super Bowl ads that are definitely worth your time.

2 out of the 4 are beer ads, which are normally famous for their creativity and huge spending. The other 2 ads are about the importance of wearing a safety belt, and erm, strong cheese.

Which is your favorite?

1. Bud Light – Clothing Drive

Description: Clothing drive in an office for a homeless shelter. The prize for each item is a tall cold Bud Light.

Media impact: Featured on 144 blogs

2. Sussex Safer Roads Partnership – Embrace Life

Description: The emotional response that is evoked by this video is much stronger than the usual bloody scenes and loud crashes. The message is very clear; wear your safety belts.

Media impact: Featured on 952 blogs.

3. Nolan’s Cheddar – Mousetrap

Description: Nolan’s cheddar – seriously strong. Even for the greedy rat.

4. Cerveza Andes – Teletransporter

To what extent do you think that companies will start doing much more viral marketing instead of using the traditional media? I love these because you can watch them over and over and you're able to easily pass them along to friends. The Sussex Safer Driving ad has to be my favorite PSA of all time. The strength of the message in as simple of an idea is outstanding.

yeap. i love that ad too!

But we have to note that viral videos are hard to create. Even if a video is great, it might not necessary get the views it deserves. There is a risk involved.

It is my impression that you cant really “use viral”. Its only viral if it's engaging or stimulating and does something for people, who then shares it within their social networks online. From there is spreads and grows its reach exponentially.

Of course, that is the holy grail for most brands – like TV back in the day. Only difference was, TV time was something you could buy. However, it's nothing easy for something to go viral, and you almost certainly cannot buy it (not in the traditional meaning of “buy” anyway), which in a way makes it more valuable to advertisers.
