Marketers alert: If your business isn’t on social media, this statistic is certainly going to be worrying.
According to eMarketer, social-networking sites are predicted to attract about two-thirds of the entire US Internet users by 2014.
In fact, we can all feel the social media rush. Facebook and Twitter, two of the more prominent social-networking sites, all reported phenomenal gain in their user base recently.
More impressively, Facebook has experienced an all time traffic high last month and was also reported to be the world’s most visited site, with a number of page views that no other website could match (note: Google is excluded in the list).
The social media revolution is for real and it is certainly time for marketers to start positioning themselves where consumers are largely going to be in the near future.

For marketers who are already building presence via social media, it is best to stay faithful with your strategy. Unlike other marketing channels, social media isn’t a channel that will allow you to hit home run in the first couple of months. Be patient and enjoy the conversations. It takes time to build relationship and thought leadership within the community.
