We all understand how big Facebook is on the web. How about in the mobile realm?
According to a Nielsen’s mobile app study, Facebook is not only big but also the most widely used application across all Smartphones. This study has proven its leadership in the social media sector yet again, as Facebook is the only social site that is featured in the leader board.
Facebook seems to be going easy on its mobile app by keeping it ad free. Another way to look at it is that its current “image and text” ads can’t be effectively displayed on our tiny phone screens. I’m sure Facebook has a plan. Sooner or later, it would definitely be coming up with its own mobile ad structure to monetize its traffic generated by over 100 million mobile users.
Location-based advertising is highly possible and would be sweetest if blended with social data. We look forward to see how the story unveils.
