What do you plan to do next weekend? Catch a movie with friends, perhaps? It is a social activity that many of us enjoy.
It is also often a longer process than imagined; consisting of watching the trailer (like the one below), talking about the movie, reading reviews, catching the real thing, and discussing about it after.
Social sites like Twitter and Facebook are vehicles that facilitate this process. Movie is social and social is movie. We love sharing and discussing them. Because of this very reason, I’m pretty sure that the movie, “The Social Network”, aka Facebook movie, is going to be a big hit, especially among Facebook lovers.
The Social Network is filmed based on the book The Accidental Billionaires. It chronicles the formative days of Facebook, from its founding in Mark Zuckerberg’s Harvard dorm room through its early rise to success. Written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by David Fincher, the film stars Jesse Eisenberg as Zuckerberg. It hits theaters this October.
This 1 minute short trailer quickly summarized the struggles Zuckerberg faced in his early Facebook days, supporting the movie’s tag line “You can’t make 500 million friends without making a few enemies”.
Catch the trailer and let us know if it entices you to catch the actual movie.
