@EarlyBird: Great Deals Everyday, Starting Today

Bargain searchers take note! @EarlyBird, a dedicated Twitter handle managed by the Twitter team rolls out today.

This account serves to alert its followers about great deals everyday, starting with movie tickets today. For a limited time, @earlybird and Disney Pictures will offer its followers a special “buy one, get one free” deal on tickets to “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice“.

With Toy Story being the first collaboration between Disney and Twitter, this @EarlyBird advertising initiative would be the second time both companies have worked together.

Does that mean that Disney is pleased with the ad service provided by Twitter so far? Probably so and @EarlyBird seems to be another good move by the Twitter team. It was just ten days ago that we first wrote about it, and today, the account has gathered nearly 50,000 followers. Most importantly, these followers follow @EarlyBird on their own accord and are users who are on the lookout for bargains.

They are open (or even happy) to listen to deal offers and advertising messages, a true dreamland for advertisers.

Thanks @mgrooves for the heads up.

Note: Date stated as 15 July due to time difference between US and Singapore.
