To our great reading pleasure, Ouriel Ohayon, blogger and VC, has created a concise deck explaining Apple’s 8 business core competencies.
All 8 points highlighted by Ouriel are inter-dependently crucial for Apple’s resurgence in the market, and more impressively, it is now on its way to becoming the world’s most valuable tech company, overtaking Microsoft and Google.
As business and marketing people, we have picked up a couple of learning points, which can be easily implemented in our daily work life to improve effectiveness and results. Our favorite, point number one, talks about Apple’s relentless pursue towards simplicity.
We also like how Steve Jobs quoted Leonardo da Vinci, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” and we felt simplicity is certainly lacking in today’s business communication. From an advertising material to a product, it is utmost important to keep the message simple and intuitive.
More often than not, companies that keep to this simple rule are highly successful. Google is another famous example, and it happens to be the world’s favorite search engine. The presentation below can be wordy, but if you have 10 minutes to spare, we would strongly encourage you to go through it. We’re pretty sure you can learn a thing or two, at least.
