Mobile Advertising and The Rise of Coupons [INFOGRAPHIC]

mobileThe mobile industry is huge and it’s showing strong signs of being a great advertising channel. 2 out of every 3 people own a phone and it is predicted that the mobile advertising market would hit $3.1 billion in 3 years time.

It isn’t hard to understand why when big tech companies like Apple and Google are stepping up their effort to firm their leadership in this lucrative industry.

Thanks to the high adoption rate of smartphones, it gives advertisers plenty of room for creativity.

QR codes (a matrix barcode readable by smartphones), for example, are used in magazines and stores for consumers to learn more about a certain product. It’s a fun and interactive way to engage consumers and increases the mobility of information. Most importantly, it doesn’t produce the mess that paper coupons do.
