Aged between 46 and 54 years old, Baby Boomers usually fall off the radar of marketers.
They were known to be thrifty slower adopters, but not anymore.
I now have grandmothers commenting on my Facebook photos, and grandfathers showing me how to use an iPhone. They are also affluent, and the oldest of group are ready to retire comfortably.
If you think that this older consumer group is not interested in your latest products and services, think again.
According to Nielsen facts, Boomers:
- Dominate 1023 out of 1083 consumer packaged goods categories
- Spend 38.5% of CPG dollars, but only 5% of advertising dollars are currently targeted towards the 35 to 64 years old
- Watch the most video: 9.34 hours a day
- Comprise 1.3 of all TV viewers, online users, and social media users
- More likely to have broadband Internet access at home
It’s time show them some love?
