Are you an over sharer? If you’re, this interview video below could be crucial for you.
Judging from the online media habits within my social circle, college students tend to share a lot of information via the social sites or apps like Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare (Disclaimer: judgment may be bias).
Of course, it’s still reasonably okay at this stage since no information is too sensitive or important to be shared.
The trouble emerges when such careless online sharing habit follows through even after graduation. When business is involved, any wrongly shared information would potentially wreck a deal and your career.
In this interview with WTNH, social media adviser Kris Ruby provides us with some business netiquette tips and how social media could be impacting your job search, sales cycle, or business reputation.
Classic Case: Domino’s Pizza
Speaking about netiquette, nothing beats the two famous Domino’s Pizza employees. The incident happened when they thought it was funny to film themselves abusing takeaway food and breaking the hygiene standards in one of Domino’s Pizza store kitchen. The video was uploaded on YouTube (the killer move) and received more than one million views before it was pulled down.
Please, don’t try this at home.
