10 days ago, we shared with you about Peepapp. In short, Peepapp helps you discover new and trending apps through your social connections. I must say I like it a lot. The only problem is that the app needs traction: If people don’t start joining and connecting with others, the user would never experience the beauty of the app.
So I gave it some time to gain traction and it looks like it has gotten quite some users over the past couple of days. I followed a couple of my friends and strangers (about ten of them) and… bam… I can finally see the value of Peepapp.
Once you follow other users, the “ranking tab” becomes active. I can see trending new apps that my network is using. According to Peepapp, most of my friends are using Facebook messenger and the Bump app which implies I should give them a try too. That’s pretty neat for a start. And Peepapp’s app discovery and recommendation will only get better as my network of friends grows larger.
Perhaps what Peepapp should do is to recommend newcomers to follow some of its power users; just like what Twitter and Weibo did. This way, users would see Peepapp’s real benefit instantly (because of it activates the ranking tab) and has more compelling reasons to invite their friends to come on board. Just like what I’m doing now — Download Peepapp here (iTunes link), follow some people, and experience its awesomeness.
