MTV India: The First Indian Brand on Google+

We’ve received a note from the folks at MTV India today saying that they are now officially on Google+. That's pretty quick. MTV India, to the best of our knowledge, is probably the first brand in India to get on Google+. The channel’s wildly popular reality television show, MTV Roadies, is already on Google+ as well. The MTV India brand is pretty tech savvy with a strong presence on Facebook and Twitter. Similarly, the digital marketers behind the brand also hope to replicate those successes on the search engine's latest social ...

Google Plus Gets Animated by NMA TV

It’s been less than a day since most of us have had our first glimpse Google’s new social project, Google Plus. But the animators over at NMA TV in Taiwan have already whipped up a short production about it. Check out the explainer below that outlines Google’s other less-than-successful social experiments (Wave, Buzz) with NMA’s typically playful CG interpretation. They also ‘poke’ fun at Zuckerberg and Co. too, as Google's new service aims to remedy many of the privacy issues Facebook users complain about. Check out the video below, and see what ...

Google+ Not Actually Blocked in China, Just Being Slowly Throttled

Google+ Not Actually Blocked in China, Just Being Slowly Throttled

Google+ is not actually blocked in China, contrary to reports today from the WSJ, TechCrunch and some other western media. Right now Google+ is accessible, but slow, for me here in mainland China. What's going on then? Well, pinging plus.google.com - try it with this ping tool - displays "packets lost" followed by a percentage figure. If it's 100% of info packets being lost, then it's very likely blocked, but if the number is lower, it's likely just being throttled, or having some other issue. Perhaps this is where the others ...

Baidu Pushes ‘Box Computing’ for Smarter, Interactive Web Searches [REVIEW]

Baidu is pushing to make its search results box smarter, more relevant, and more alive - that's why numerous popular searches in the Baidu search bar can bring up an interactive frame that could, among other things, play music (pictured above) or games, post to a microblog, let you check currency conversions, or download a popular app with just one click. Google and Bing haven't ventured so far as Baidu into smart or semantic content results from the search box. Sure, Google's updated mobile page is impressive - using your geolocation ...

According to the survey of 1428 job seekers conducted by SaraminHR, 16.7 percent chose Google Korea as the most desirable foreign firm to work at. Rumor Suggests Baidu Mobile OS Based on Android, Coming This Year

If rumors and expectation could be harnessed as a form of renewable energy, then Baidu's Mobile OS, reportedly based on Android, could power Shanghai's air-cons through a hot and humid summer. This time, we have the codename QiuShi and a timeframe for an end of 2011 release. Chinese site TechWeb is additionally suggesting that Baidu has its Android-powered OS at the stage where its UI is being worked on by one of two experienced design teams who have long worked on mobile UI - either the DianXin team (backed by Li ...
