It is very likely that Twitter would be launching its business accounts soon, as several companies are currently testing out its corporate platform. The corporate accounts, according to co-founder Biz Stone, will provide businesses with statistics to measure their Twitter performance. We can expect the usual web measurement metrics, such as click through rate, tweet sentiments and retweet rate. The rest are unknown as Twitter remains tight lipped. A survey study by WebBizIdeas, an Internet marketing solutions company, has revealed that only 26% of US business Twitter users are willing ...

Twitter is serving more than 1 billion tweets per month, and a recent study has credited veteran Twitter users (those who have micro-blogged for more than 9 months) as the main contributors. This study tells us one thing – the more we tweet, the more addicted we get. Perhaps the addiction kicks in when a Twitter user gains more followers over time. A Twitter infographic that we previously shared also confirms this fact. Most Twitter users have less than 5 followers, and it was also stated that most newbies drop Twitter after ...

byWillis WeeinUncategorized
Facebook was previously announced as the world's second most visited site, after overtaking Yahoo. We knew it is just a matter of time that it would overtake Google to take on the number one spot. Is the day finally here? According to Hitwise's data, Facebook has overtaken Google as the most visited website in the U.S for the week ending March 13, 2010. Facebook was responsible for 7.07% of the entire U.S web visits while Google was just a little behind with 7.03%. It seems like Google's Super Bowl ad didn't manage ...

Dumping someone can be tough, especially when we have to confront the person face to face. A survey reported by Reuters revealed that to avoid the awkwardness, many chose to do this over the Internet; with 34% of the people, out of the 2,000 surveyed, using Email as the primary breakup tool. Unsurprisingly, social sites are the next favorite. 13% of the people surveyed changed their Facebook status to "single" without the other party's prior knowledge. Another 6% chose to announce the breakup through Twitter. That's about 20% of the people ...

STATS: Twitter Wave Still Going Strong

byWillis WeeinUncategorized
Twitter had experienced flat growth (in terms of unique traffic) for the past months but ironically, the number tweets are growing rapidly. Besides the high possibility that users are tweeting more often, we also jokingly attributed the growth to the growing number of bots on Twitter. Well, seems like the former reason is more likely. ComScore reported that Twitter's unique visits had risen to nearly 75 million in January. In other words, more people are joining the micro-blogging site; proving that the Twitter wave is still going strong. Notice that the surge ...

Connect with us via Google Buzz here Despite the loud buzz on Twitter, Google Buzz isn't that well received by Twitter users. According to Crimson Hexagon's findings, 50% of the people surveyed dislike it and another 15% have privacy issues with it. But Twitter users aren't that loyal either - only 6% of the people surveyed pledged loyalty to the micro-blogging giant. The data was collected from 9 to 12 February, representing only the first impression Twitter users have on Google Buzz. Google Buzz might not be spectacular at first sight, ...
Twitter Tweets Just Grew and Grew

byWillis WeeinUncategorized
Despite the stagnant growth in Twitter's unique visits, the number of tweets did not stop growing. Remember that we said "Billion" is what Twitter is looking at for 2010? Pingdom's graph shows that the number of tweets had already surpassed the billion mark since December last year. The tweets that were calculated came from both the Twitter website and all third party clients. The graph brings us two possible conclusions: Either Twitter users are tweeting more often or there are more people joining Twitter. Back in December 2009, another source of data suggested ...

Kevin explains it best: "We categorized each incoming tweet as about the Super Bowl itself, about the brands or the commercials, or neither. Dividing each group by the total volume of tweets, we produced the graph below which represents a minute-by-minute reflection of people's thoughts and emotions during ...
